The winners of the npower Future Leaders competition embarked on a 200km expedition across northern Norway to learn first hand about the impact of climate change.

The winning teams are from St. Andrews University and Nottingham University. They excelled through the competition to earn their place on the trip of a lifetime where they will be inspired to continue their campaigns to change the world.

Newheights

This team from Nottingham University excelled at the physical challenges. Come in and find out more about their project.

The two winning teams set out on the 28th of March to learn about sustainability in the Arctic. This website details some of the experiences and outcomes of the trip as well as how the winning teams came to be selected.

The Nottingham winning team came up with a project called New Heights which embraced social media networks such as Facebook to raise awareness about climate change.

The St Andrews winning team came up with a project called We Care which engaged young people to challenge themselves and world leaders to care more about the environment on a local and global scale. The campaign focused around an online petition that reached over seventy countries worldwide, and supported by organisations and individuals such as WWF, Greenpeace and the Sustainable Development Commissioner to Scotland.
